Capacity² and Shared
Introduction
Flintshire awarded NWREN funding for 2004/05. The increased capacity enabled by this grant and the contribution made by Flintshire to the Race Equality Agenda is proving to be long lasting and capable of helping NWREN to impact on Race Equality in a more sustainable and comprehensive manner. Examples such as organisational growth, development and strategic planning can now underpin our operational standards and professional performance.

Achievements
Some of the successes of the project include:
- Progress towards a sensitive and appropriate virtual race incident reporting mechanism with particular attention to the need for anonymity and third party reporting. Future development will include links to this website.
- Support on BME consultation leading to changes in local provision e.g. female swimming arrangements, and enhanced provision such as the development of embroidery classes.
- A Flintshire venue for NWREN’s Annual General meeting. It also provided the opportunity to demonstrate the importance of authentic cuisine as a part of social intercourse for the BME community.
- Work on the development of a membership package which will be made available to all those from Flintshire during April 2005 and promoted through the April NWREN newsletter.
- Collaboration on the production of a fact sheet on furthering the understanding of different religions and cultures. Once completed this work will be made available on the web.
