Wrexham

Background

Often described as the capital of North Wales , Wrexham is the natural hub for the surrounding area. It has retained its market town atmosphere, despite the fact that its pedestrianised shopping centre offers a superb mixture of national and local shops. The catchment area extends far beyond the boundaries of the Borough, attracting shoppers from the border areas of Cheshire and Shropshire and from Mid and North Wales .

Wrexham is the commercial and administrative centre for the densely populated industrial area of N.E. Clwyd. The town with it's population of 43,000 is the largest in North Wales and the total population of Wrexham County Borough is 129,300.

Situated close to the huge conurbations of the north-west of England and with easy road access to Birmingham and the Midlands , Wrexham is within a two hour drive of one third of the UK 's population and half of its manufacturing industry.

Wrexham has a strong and diverse economy that shows every sign of maintaining the substantial growth that took place throughout the 1990s. The thriving business community consists of everything from small indigenous operations to major multi-nationals and world class companies.
