About NWREN - Becoming a Member

JOINING NORTH WALES RACE EQUALITY NETWORK

Are you thinking of becoming a member? By becoming a member of North Wales Race Equality Network, you are taking a positive step towards challenging inequalities that are based on discrimination, prejudice, and racism. Once you have become a member there are many ways in which you can actively support the network. Volunteering on a wide range of practical opportunities like supporting race discrimination training or sitting on focus groups designed to encourage increased recruitment of ethnic minorities may be of interest to you. You may wish to work with our Committee to help us develop our strategy, we need all sorts of experience and expertise.

There are four types of membership

You can join either as an individual, as a group representative or as a corporate organisation (additional benefits are described following the Corporate Membership application form A) provided your organisation is committed to challenging racial inequalities.

All members will receive:

  • a membership card
  • the NWREN supporters newsletter (quarterly)
  • a password to the membership section of the web site
  • opportunity to contribute to the development of an equal society for North Wales

In addition, members have voting rights at NWREN’s Annual General Meeting.

 

MEMBERSHIP TYPES

  • Corporate Membership (1 vote per organisation at Annual general Meeting)

    Corporate membership is open to any organisation that operates within the six counties of North Wales (Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Ynys Môn and Gwynedd). Each Corporate Member and the organisations representative must submit a written commitment to the objects of NWREN.

  • Affiliated Full Membership (1 vote per organisation or group at Annual General Meeting)

    Affiliated Full Membership is open to any voluntary group or charitable organisation which operates in six counties of North Wales (Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Ynys Môn and Gwynedd) and has been in existence for a minimum of six months. Each Affiliated Member must submit a written commitment to the objects of NWREN. In addition, the representative of the Affiliated Member must also submit a written declaration to the objects of NWREN.

  • Individual Full Membership (1 vote per member at Annual General Meeting)

    An Individual Full Member is an individual who lives within the six counties of North Wales (Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Ynys Môn and Gwynedd). He/She must also submit a commitment to the objects of NWREN.

  • Associate Membership (No vote at Annual General Meeting)

    An associate member is an individual or organisation resident outside of the six Counties of North Wales (Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Ynys Môn and Gwynedd). who submits a written commitment to the objects of NWREN.

MEMBERSHIP RATES

If you join during the year, charges will be proportional and your membership will continue until April the following year.

   Corporate Membership £1,500 p.a.
   
   Affiliate Membership  
                Less than 50 staff £25.00 p.a.
                More than 50 staff £50.00 p.a.
   
   Individual members £10.00 p.a.
   
   Associate membership £25.00 p.a.

Waiving of fees

Organisations that are small and have funding difficulties – can give a donation provided the amount is in excess of individual membership fee.

Individuals who are encountering monetary difficulties can also offer a voluntary donation.

Organisations or individuals members should be not be excluded on account of monetary concerns.
